CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION INFORMATION

IMPORTANT PARENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

MASS REFLECTIONS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL GRADE LEVELS SOON!

This coming Faith Formation Year we will continue using the Gospel Weeklies for all levels except Level 2 who continues using the new "Go, Seek, Find" program to prepare for their First Communion next spring.

We appreciate the willingness of our catechists, hall helpers and classroom aides who help us support parents in the vital responsibility of passing on our faith to God's little ones.

We invite you to pray and think about being involved next fall in our Faith Formation Program. We will need catechists and classroom aides in various levels. This would be a weekly commitment, adults over 18 must attend a VIRTUS class, a 2-hour information session on "Protection for All God's Children."  It is a rewarding way to be involved in our program; your children will be glad you helped and you will too!

IN ADDITION, WE ALWAYS NEED HALL HELPERS.

High School Students: Being a hall helper or classroom aide is a great way to get community service hours in high school. We welcome all students who would enjoy helping young ones stay safe while learning about God and our faith.

Hall helpers (teen or adults) assist us by being in the hallways during classtime, escorting students to the rest rooms, assisting teachers in getting supplies, etc. Adults who are in the building to drop their children off at classes are often willing to help out during the hour of class time by being hall helpers or aides in the classrooms. Please consider this needed service for your children in our program.

NOTE: All (over age 18) who are involved with the children in any capacity are required to attend a VIRTUS 2-hour course, for the protection and safety of our children. You must be registered online before attending the course.  Go to www.virtusonline.org and sign up for an upcoming class. When you attend, be sure to get a certificate of completion. We will keep this on file at CTK Parish.

YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE AT: www.virtus.org - PRIOR TO  YOUR VIRTUS SESSION. THANK YOU.

LEVEL 1 News

Classes have begun and children are settling into our program. We are urging parents to begin a weekly ritual of attending Mass on Sundays as it will greatly enhance your child's faith formation. Flyers are being sent home about Family Mass/Hospitality which begins in October.

Level 2 News

Level 2 students will receive tote bags to carry their Bibles to each class. No need to bring the Bible on the first week! Please review their weekly classwork when they get home. This will reinforce what they hear in class.

Level 3-8 News

Students will again be using the PFLAUM Gospel Weeklies each week in their classrooms.

ALL LEVELS EXCEPT LEVEL 1 SHOULD BRING THEIR BIBLES TO CLASS EACH WEEK. LEVELS 2 & 3 SHOULD USE THE TOTE BAGS PROVIDED IN LEVEL 2.

FAMILY MASS (9:30AM) AND HOSPITALITY NEWS

SUNDAYS:

WE WILL BE STARTING FAMILY MASS HOSPITALITY ON SUNDAY,  OCTOBER 7

NEW THIS YEAR WILL BE "MISS MARY MOMENTS" WHERE WE WILL HEAR SOME FACTS ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN.  FAMILIES CAN TAKE HOME SOME MATERIALS TO SHARE TOGETHER. WE MAY HAVE PUZZLES, CRAFTS, DRAWINGS, ETC.

SO, PLAN TO JOIN US DURING HOSPITALITY SUNDAYS.

WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY WRAPPED OR UNUSED ITEMS TO BE USED FOR RAFFLE PRIZES AT FUTURE HOSPITALITY SUNDAY EVENTS. THESE CAN BE BROUGHT TO THE CHILDREN'S FAITH FORMATION OFFICE OR RECTORY OFFICE. JUST MARK THEM  'FAMILY MASS HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE'.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

We thank our committee, Kristen, Anna, Thuy, Suzanne, Patti and all those who volunteer services and goodies each time we have Hospitality. We also thank all the parish ministries for their wonderful raffle baskets and gifts through the year.

The Recine Family has contributed to our Hospitality Sundays in their own way; Dad Anthony picks up the bagels for each Hospitality breakfast while Mom Susan (helped by Sophia and Leo) assembles many raffle baskets from the generously-donated gifts.

It takes lots of us in the CFF community to create these meaningful get-togethers. All are appreciated.
